Short description In partnership with Aktar and Sachimi Hussain Foundation, Phulki’s Khelaghor is operating 5 community-based day care centers for the RMG community. The main purpose of these community-based centers in to provide a tension free environment to the mothers so that they can work along with offer a secured environment for the children. Children are learning and educating themselves in social and behavioural skills. Children are also learning better hygiene practices.

Phulki’s Khela Ghar focused on the community-based day care center for. Now the direct beneficiaries are 140 children and indirect beneficiaries are around 300 parents, community people, 15 caregivers and teachers. Parents are encouraged for ensuring a minimum contribution and the current involvement of parents is showing that they have an acute need for childcare centers for ensuring their children’s safety and development.

Major Achievements
  • Children were enrolled in school and madrasa
  • Dropout rate from school has reduced and children from day care centers are doing better in school
  • Special need children (children with speech disorder and late child) can express their needs with the support of our center’s activity
  • Job opportunity has been created for many women from the community as center caregivers and teachers
  • Regular mothers and parents meeting has enabled better knowledge on nutrition, responsive care and parenting.
