Short description | According to BBS, 2013 there are 0.12 million children domestic worker in the country out of 3.45 million working children. Out of 0.12 million CDWs 90.58% are girl domestic workers who are deprived from education and other child rights. Fulltime girl domestic workers live in the employer house under the exclusive control of the employers; Who are deprived of their right from education, health, play, security, protection, equal opportunity, development and participation. Phulki has been working for Girl Domestic Workers since 2006 with Shapla Neer successfully. Meanwhile, Domestic Workers Protection and Welfare Policy’2015 is approved and Phulki designed 3rd phase following the Policy. From the experience of 3rd Phase Phulki could realize that in terms of 14-18 years GDWs, who crossed their school age, they do not have any other option to receive skill training at their comparatively free time. As a result, either they cannot go back to village or cannot do any other decent job. GDWs who are going back to their own village are facing more vulnerable situation than they were in employer’s house. They are getting early marriage by force and giving birth of child and also becoming a victim of domestic violence. Also, as DWPWP’2015 policy is very new in Bangladesh as well as in community it needs more time to disseminate this information to create more awareness for GDWs future and present betterment. So Phulki want to do more work to develop area of those observations. |
