Project Goal |
1. Approximately 7500 female workers from eight factories benefited through project interventions. 2. MHM in place in all partner factories by the end of the project. 3. At least 70% of female workers received sanitary pads regularly from partner factories’ health center |

Short description | Funded by Auchan Retailer under Weave our Future Foundation and technical supported by SNV Netherlands Development Organization, Phulki is working as implementing organization under the project titled “implementing MHM model through integration of basket solution. Phulki will equip/strengthen the factory medical center for ensuring better Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) for the targeted factory workers. Phulki supporting to the factories to get access to affordable sanitary pads and selling them in turn to their workers. Family Planning services and products will be ensured to the factory workers. Phulki will continue this operation through both the support from the local family planning department and through building mechanisms with the pharmaceutical/private sector company for ensuring family planning products.
Through continuous advocacy from Phulki on menstrual hygiene, Auchan Retailer and factory management are contributing to procuring sanitary napkin for their workers and providing it to them in a cost-sharing manner as part of investing in SRHR. Workers both male and female of eight partner factories will access family planning and other MHM services and products through GO, NGO, and private sector collaboration initiated by Phulki. |
Major Achievements | ● Total 3052 (female: 2564, Male; 488) participants have received on MHM issues.
● A total of 36300 sanitary napkins have been purchased by 8 factories for their workers, till October 2020. A total of 24311 workers have received sanitary napkins till October 2020. ● All the factory’s male and female workers are getting sanitary napkins from their medical center at affordable prices. ● Purbachal is providing sanitary napkins to male workers since July 2020 ● C & R Sweater is providing a subsidy of BDT. 8 per pack of sanitary Napkins. So, the workers are getting at cost BDT. 10 ● Purbachal Apparels Ltd. provides sanitary napkins at BDT. 18 and they will continue it up to the project span ● MM Knit will contribute 20% cost for each pack for the next two years ● T. Sweater Ltd. Providing at BDT. 18 and they will continue it up to the project span ● T. Sweater declared a prize/award for the respective supervisors and in charge who could distribute the highest quantity of sanitary napkins to the workers for their specific line from October 2020. So, the floor management encourages workers to receive sanitary napkins from the factory medical center. ● All the factories are maintaining the new format (provided by SNV) for record-keeping from September 2020 ● M.M. Knitwear arranged a new shelf to store and display sanitary napkins in the factory medical center |
