Short Description:
Phulki’s “Empowerment of Women Workers Through Child Care Program” operates a community-based childcare center for two factories in collaboration with the Cool Foundation. The primary goal of this center is to provide a stress-free environment for mothers, allowing them to work without worrying about their children’s safety and well-being. In the center, children are learning and developing social, behavioral, and hygiene skills. The cost of childcare is completely free for parents.
Positive Outcomes:
Mothers expressed concern when they feared the childcare center might close, leading to emotional reactions. This highlighted the significant impact the center has on their lives.
Working mothers have greatly benefited from the ability to leave their children in a safe and secure environment, allowing them to continue their work without the mental stress of childcare concerns. Without this center, some mothers would have been forced to leave their jobs to care for their children.
Children at the center are gaining valuable knowledge in social, cognitive, and learning abilities, which will benefit them in their future development.
Caregivers and teachers have gained the necessary skills to prepare educational materials for the center through training, enhancing the overall quality of care provided.
